ANYTHING NEW to be produced at Wombat, and more!

Long time, no post! I'm psyched to report a few updates:

  • In February 2016, my beloved Wombat Theatre Company will present a workshop production of my play Anything New. Info & tickets available at
  • In 2015, I wrote the screenplay for a short musical film called "Landed," with music & lyrics by the incomparable Zoe Sarnak. It was produced by New York Film Academy, and will be screened in spring 2016.
  • In spring 2015, my short play "Paper & Glue" was featured in the theatrical event HALL PASS, presented by Grace Church High School in conjunction with NYU.

More soon!

PLAY/DATE redux and the NYTimes!

Hello there!

PLAY/DATE, remounted in spectacular style, has been extended through August 13th. Tickets are available at

In its review of PLAY/DATE, the New York Times gave my play "Insta" a lovely shoutout:

"There's thoughtful drama here, including Emily Kaczmarek's 'Insta,' about two women on the rebound, plotting to become fake online girlfriends." See the review in its entirety here.

"Freelance" to begin shooting 2/16

Hello! Just a quick update: my short film "Freelance" will begin shooting this Saturday under the direction of Justin Rogers of Film Repertory Group, and starring Magen Ashley Young and Katie Lee Hill. The film is a glimpse into the life of Jenna, a twentysomething vigilante with a very specific agenda...

"Insta," "Freelance," and acting!

Hey folks! To recap a crazy fall:

PLAY/DATE, which featured my play Insta, was a smashing success. Thanks and kudos to Blake McCarty and the rest of the all-star team of writers, actors, and directors!

My short film Freelance will be produced by Film Repertory Group, the brainchild of a great friend, John Noel. Freelance (formerly titled Pro Bono) is a glimpse into the life of Jenna, a vigilante with a very specific agenda...

Last but not least, I am currently acting opposite the awesomely talented Nick Stag in Wombat Theatre Company's productions of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (by John Patrick Shanley) and Gruesome Playground Injuries (by Rajiv Joseph). The shows will be presented back-to-back in one bloody, awesome night of two-handed combat at the Gene Frankel Theatre in mid-December. Stay tuned!

i am officially a serious young artist, as evidenced by my personal web site! let this post serve as proof that i do not refer to myself in the third person 24/7-- just like, 21/7.
